Lachung Monastery

Lachung Monastery, or Lachung Gompa, is a beautiful Buddhist monastery in the Lachung Valley of Sikkim. It is situated at an altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level and is one of Sikkim's most popular tourist destinations.

The monastery was founded in 1880 and belonged to the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The monastery's architecture is a beautiful blend of traditional Tibetan and Sikkimese styles, reflected in the intricate designs and carvings on the walls and pillars.
