Bassi Purani Sanctury
Bassi Purani Sanctuary is a wildlife sanctuary located in the state of Punjab, India. It covers an area of approximately 400 hectares and is situated in the city of Gurdaspur, near the border with Pakistan.
The sanctuary is named after the village of Bassi Purani, which is located nearby. It was established in 1985 to protect the local flora and fauna and provide a safe habitat for various species of wildlife.
The vegetation in the sanctuary includes tropical dry deciduous forests, thorn scrub, and riverine forest. Some of the important plant species found here are shisham, neem, khair, and kikar.
