History of Akhnoor Fort
Akhnoor Fort construction was started in 1762 by Raja Teg Singh and finished by his inheritor Raja Alam Singh in 1802. The founder of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaj Gulab Singh's crowning ceremony, was held at Jia Pota Ghat on the Chenab River Maharaja Ranjit Singh on 17th June 1822.
