Gangrel Dam
The Gangrel Dam is located in Chhattisgarh, a state in central India. The dam is situated on the Mahanadi River, a major tributary of the Godavari River, and was constructed in 1977 to help with irrigation and flood control. The dam is one of India's largest and an important water resource for the state.
The Gangrel Dam is a gravity dam and is constructed from reinforced concrete. The dam stands at a height of 91.44 meters and has a length of 1.2 kilometres. The reservoir created by the dam is known as the Gangrel Reservoir and covers an area of 28.6 sq. km. The reservoir holds 6.48 million cubic meters of water and a maximum storage capacity of 1.25 million.
