Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary Nagaon
Laokhowa Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area in the Nagaon district of Assam, India. It was established in 1972 and covers an area of about 70 sq. km. The sanctuary is situated on the south bank of the Brahmaputra River and is surrounded by agricultural fields, tea gardens, and small hamlets. It is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including the Indian one-horned rhinoceros, Asiatic elephant, Royal Bengal tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, and many species of deer and primates.
The sanctuary is mostly covered with tall grasses, reeds, and patches of evergreen forests. The park's main attraction is its diverse birdlife, with over 225 species recorded in the sanctuary.
